Administrative Experience

2016 to Present              Exhibits Director, Durango Arts Center, Durango, CO. Responsible for curatorial policy, budget, and daily operations of DAC’s Barbara Conrad Gallery, Entrada Gallery, and special community installation projects. Curate an annual schedule of shows generating high levels of engagement among the artistic community and general public. Coordinates opening receptions and related educational events, working with community partners and volunteers to engage with local community of artists, while also generating creative dialogue about larger issues in contemporary art practices.

2017 to Present              Owner and Artist, Studio & Gallery, Durango, CO. Formed in 2010, Studio & Gallery is owned and operated by 5 artists in Durango, Colorado. Toeing the line between studio, gallery and retail space, their intention is to create as a studio, sell and curate as a gallery, and serve as a confluence of art, ideas, and progress for the four corners region of the USA. Responsibilities include, but not limited to; artist management, exhibition design, event coordination, community engagement, social media management, public relations, and general consultation regarding contracts and operational planning and implementation.

2014 to 2016                  Director of Development and Public Relations, Living Arts of Tulsa, Inc. Tulsa, OK. Duties include managing more than 40 annual grants from foundations such as; Northeastern Foundation for the Arts, National Performance Network, Oklahoma Arts Council, Oklahoma Humanities Council, George Kaiser Family Foundation, Raymond and Bessie Kravis Foundation, Target Foundation, Hispanic American Foundation, etc. in combination with corporate and private donors to develop a $600,000 annual non-profit budget. Generate media attention and audiences for exhibits, performances, and education programs through social media, website and printed content, advertising placements, and arranging articles for publications and appearances on local news stations.

Teaching Experience

2014     Advanced Digital Printmaking, Teacher of Record, Louisiana Tech University. Topics covered incorporation of multiple digital processes. Positive lithography plates, creation of a matrix with new media, and use non-traditional substrates, culminate in the exploration of contemporary concept and presentation.
            Introduction to Digital Printmaking, Teacher of Record, Louisiana Tech University. Topics covered the familiarization with the use of positive lithography plates, digital formatting, color separation for duotone and process printing, and exploratory use of new technology to produce a matrix from non-traditional materials.

2013     Advanced Intaglio, Teacher of Record, Louisiana Tech University. Topics covered the incorporation of multiple processes etching of copper plate using hard ground, soft ground, aqua tint, lift ground and dry point in conjunction with conceptual presentation and interdisciplinary process such as digital lithography and monotype.

            Introduction to Intaglio, Teacher of Record, Louisiana Tech University. Topics covered the individual and multiple processes etching of copper plate using hard ground, soft ground, aqua tint, lift ground and dry point.           

            Sculpture Processes, Teaching Assistant, Louisiana Tech University. Topics covered the incorporation of multiple processes in woodworking, laser cutting, welding, concrete casting, photography, projection and general mixed media presentation.

            Figure Drawing, Teaching Assistant, Louisiana Tech University. Topics covered skeletal structure, muscle structure, gesture, block in, proportion, point-to -point measure, Giacometti method as they relate to the human figure.

            2-D Instructor, North Central Louisiana Arts Council Summer Arts Camp for ages 6-12, Ruston, LA. Duties included all planning, scheduling and instruction. Subjects and techniques covered creating designs with shapes/everything is a shape, abstract expressionist self-portrait silhouettes, flat versus modeled design and collaborative creature design.

2012     Co-Instructor, Painting I, Louisiana Tech University. Duties included planning, scheduling, instruction and critique. Topics covered oil painting monochrome, limited and full palate still life, landscape and interpreting/painting an artist copy. Lecture covered oil painting substrates, paints and mediums.

            Drawing II, Teaching Assistant, Louisiana Tech University. Topics covered the expansion of the 4-step process; gesture, block in, point-to-point, and finish in the context of the human head and figure, still life and plein air in both wet and dry media.

            Color Design, Teaching Assistant, Louisiana Tech University. Topics covered included exercises in the elements of color, color perception and the physics of light, context and composition in relation to color harmony, color and luminosity, color and culture, meaning and symbolism.

            3-D Instructor, North Central Louisiana Arts Council Summer Arts Camp for ages 6-12, Ruston, LA. Duties included assistance with project preparation, class management and cleanup.
